DISTRICT FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES
For the 2008-2009 year, the Cal-Nev-Ha Circle K district has set the following fundraising goals:
-Pediatric Trauma Program $15,000
-UNICEF Six Cents Initiative $10,000
-Captain Planet Foundation $10,000
Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) is a Kiwanis-sponsored charity dedicated to training pediatric doctors in emergency medicine and trauma doctors in pediatric care. It also promotes health and safety for children. For more information, please see http://cnhfoundation.org/trauma.shtml.
PTP.doc What is PTP?
Six Cents Saving Lives Initiative was started by the Circle K International Board in conjunction with UNICEF in an effort to reach out to children all over the world who are suffering from dehydration and lack of clean water and sanitation. Six cents is the cost of one sachet of rehydrating salts, which can save the life of a child for a day. Please see www.ckisixcents.org for more information.
CKI_6CentsInitiative_overview.doc What is the Six Cents Initiative?
Captain Planet Foundation, our newest District Fundraising Initiative, is a non-profit organization that encourages "innovative activities that empower children around the world to work individually and collectively as environmental stewards." Basically, it's a great way to help both kids AND the environment. Interested in learning more? Check out their website at http://captainplanetfdn.org.
